Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a difficult period, managing just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from spring of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
His defensive play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his ability to play at the elite level was over.
However the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the last five games to go ahead.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.
The opponent rescued four early-game break points in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
