Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and applying penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced intense attacks overnight. A young boy lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The strikes succeed nights of air raids in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
